Ms. Katie

I grew up in Bellevue, Washington and received a B.A. in English and Creative Writing from Western Washington University in Bellingham. My first experience teaching was as a Music Teacher at a private school, and I quickly discovered that I loved working with children. I was anxious to begin a career as a teacher! After moving to Austin in 2000, I enrolled in the Certification and Masters Program at Texas State University and received a Masters of Education in Early Childhood Education. I taught Kindergarten in Del Valle ISD for three years and enjoyed helping students build a strong foundation for literacy and success in school. I have been blessed with the opportunity to stay at home with my son, William, since his birth in 2006 and am now excited to be back in a school environment. I look forward to being a part of the nurturing and creative community here at Grace Garden CDC. Home
